An interesting but potentially upsetting rumor about the next big Nintendo Direct has surfaced from Zippo, a leaker which previously got a couple of things right.
Zippo has claimed that Nintendo will not be hosting a Nintendo Direct this June, which is the same month as the now cancelled E3 2020. The reason, he claimed, is because Nintendo was “woefully unprepared” for WFH (work from home) arrangements during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, and given the circumstances, it is very hard for the company to prepare for the presentation now.
Zippo also added that many third party and indie developers are “also behind” on their schedule due to the outbreak, and he expects Nintendo to make an announcement about the lack of a June Nintendo Direct next week.
Although there isn’t going to be a Nintendo Direct in June, the leaker says that Nintendo will spread out their announcements throughout the year on social media, similar to how they have been announcing updates for Super Mario Maker 2 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Keep in mind that this is a rumor, so things might change before we know it.
