Today we have some interesting news about a potential second Yo-Kai Watch mainline title coming to Nintendo Switch in the near future.
According to Weekly Famitsu magazine leaker Ryokutya2089, a new Yo-Kai Watch movie called Yo-Kai Gakuen is now in development. Coinciding with the announcement, a Yo-Kai Watch Arc Design Contest was also announced in Japan.
Now here’s where things get interesting – the Highest Award of Excellence and Award of Excellence prize categories include a prize that’s called “The latest game in the Yo-Kai Watch series”. The image for that prize is a Nintendo Switch box with its cover art blackened out.
As Yo-Kai Watch 4 was released a few weeks ago in Japan, it wouldn’t be necessary to hide its design on the prize page, leading Ryokutya2089 to suspect that the prize is a new entry in the Yo-Kai Watch series that isn’t formally revealed yet.
It also wouldn’t be surprising to see a complete edition to Yo-Kai Watch 4 release this winter, as that was what happened with Yo-Kai Watch 2 and Yo-Kai Watch 3 in Japan.
