Recently, Masahiro Sakurai was interviewed again by Famitsu in a column where he talked about why he decided to do a live stream for The Hero instead of a video similar to Joker for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Check it out below in this translation from PushDustIn:
-Sakurai confirmed he helps out on advertising for Super Smash Bros Ultimate which means that he works on trailers for fighters and Direct presentations with the game featured.
-Sakurai created The Hero showcase live stream on his own. Him joking about “not having much of a budget for this” in the live stream is actually the truth.
-The team wasn’t able to prepare a video for The Hero similar to Joker as they needed somebody to write out the script and make the video which would take Sakurai away from development on the characters to work on the video (which he isn’t allowed to do due to the DLC’s fixed price).
-No script was used for the live stream but Sakurai did decide a list of some general things to talk about and he controlled the game himself with no help.
-As Sakurai was the only person in the video, he didn’t need to pay someone else to be in it and it only took him less than 2 hours to edit it.
-Working on the video by himself did take him away from character development and his hands were in pain while editing but he feels that they were necessary costs.
-Sakurai feels he didn’t speak well in the video and does acknowledge it wasn’t perfect but he does think that he was able to convey his thoughts in an easy to understand manner.
