Fans of SEGA’s games might be for some fresh news in just a couple of hours!
SEGA Europe has announced that it will be broadcasting its first live stream of 2021 later today (European Time) with “something special” in store for viewers. Along with this, they shared a short clip of the SEGA logo being formed by Sonic the Hedgehog running back and forth on a television.
While this teaser is vague at best, it bears noting that 2021 is Sonic’s 30th anniversary – with SEGA already teasing new developments, merchandise, and collaborations to celebrate the blue blur’s big birthday. Additionally, SEGA recently revealed that Sonic would be joining Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 as a playable character – so maybe even more announcements are on the way, as well!
However, it’s also possible that this stream will feature something else entirely different. We’ll report back if we hear something exciting soon!
[UPDATE: Well, the live stream was indeed related to Sonic – but only as a new playable character in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, as previously announced. You can catch up on the live stream where they check out Sonic in action over here on Twitch.]
