Today, Nintendo announced that its current President and CEO, Tatsumi Kimishima, will be stepping down from his position due to retirement.
Kimishima will pass on his position to Shuntaro Furukawa. He currently holds the following positions:
Furukawa’s ascension to Nintendo Chief Executive will take effect upon receiving approval at the 78th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, scheduled to take place on June 28, 2018. Tatsumi Kimishimi led Nintendo after the sudden abrupt death of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in 2015, and after his retirement in 2018, he will assume office as Executive Adviser.
