Nintendo Global President Shuntaro Furukawa recently spoke to the Sankei after the resounding success of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
In a short interview with Sankei, Furukawa said people who have previously played past Super Smash Bros. titles purchased Super Smash Bros. Ultimate earlier this month, contributing a huge boost to the game’s sales at launch. He hopes to see the game continue to sell strongly into the future, not just weeks after launch.
Besides commenting on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Furukawa spoke on Nintendo’s goal to sell 20 million Nintendo Switch consoles by the end of this financial year ending March 2019. While he says that the goal is a little high, it is still within reach. Nintendo has three months left to achieve their goal.
