Slowpoke Paradise Returns To Kagawa For The Second Time In 2019

Last year, an April Fools’ joke featuring Slowpoke in Udon-ken (April Fools’ nickname of Kagawa prefecture) turned into a full campaign called Udon-ken X Slowpoke: Slowpoke Paradise to promote tourism in the prefecture.

After a successful campaign in 2018, The Pokemon Company and Kagawa prefecture are teaming up again for Slowpoke Paradise 2019. And this time it’s going to run even longer – it begins April 19, 2019 and will end on January 31, 2020.

Activities in the 2019 campaign are pretty similar to the 2018 campaign, but there are of course new things to do and new products to purchase. We have the full scoop below:

Slowpoke Kaarage Sanuki Udon Goes On Sale!

From April 19 to April 21, 2019, Slowpoke Kaarage Sanuki Udon will be available for purchase at Takamatsu Symbol Tower 1F Decks Galleria from 10am to 3pm. Limited to 200 servings per day. The ramen retails for 400 yen inclusive sales tax.

Pokemon Center Temporary Store

Similar to 2018, a Pokemon Center Temporary Store will be set up at the concourse of Takamatsu station from April 19 to April 21, 2019. There, visitors can purchase Pokemon Center products as well as special Slowpoke products exclusive to Kagawa prefecture. Operating hours are 10am to 5pm daily.

Slowpoke is coming to play!

Complete the Stamp Rally event and win prizes

An Udon-ken X Slowpoke: Slowpoke Paradise in Kagawa 2019 Stamp Rally event is going to be held in two phases, each phase having their own exclusive presents.

To participate in the Stamp Rally, first you have to head to one of the 62 stamp rally locations to receive stamp rally booklet. Then, you can choose to visit as many stamp rally locations you want to collect stamps for your booklet. Depending on the number of stamps you have collected, you’ll be registered into a lottery to win exclusive Slowpoke products.

Phase 1, which takes place from April 19 to September 30, 2019, will feature the following prizes:

Prize A: Stone Monument Slowpoke (24cm, 5kg). 10 stamps required to enter, and there will be 3 winners

Prize C: Special Clear File 3 Set. 2 stamps required to enter, and there will be 100 winners

Full list of stamp rally locations can be found here in Japanese.

Exclusive Slowpoke Prefecture Merchandise in Kagawa!

If you missed out on last year’s Slowpoke Prefecture merchandise, good news – you can purchase them this year! There are some new products on the way, which we will talk about below.

Slowpoke Roof Tile Rice Cracker is a snack made by Kutsuwado. The snack retails for 700 yen exclusive 8% sales tax. Each pack comes with six rice crackers.

Next up is Fried Pippi Slowpoke. This is the same fried snack that’s appearing in the Sanuki Udon going on sale from April 19 to April 21. “Pippi” also happens to be Clefairy’s name in Japanese, hence the reason why it’s on the packaging. Merikenya is the maker of the Fried Pippi Slowpoke snack, and you’ll be able to purchase it for 380 yen exclusive 8% sales tax.

These are the locations that will offer Slowpoke Prefecture merchandise in Kawaga prefecture.

Slowpoke One Day Travel Pass

A one-day travel pass for Kotoden trains in Kagawa prefecture will go on sale from April 19, 2019 to January 31, 2020. The tickets feature a special Slowpoke design. Adult tickets cost 1230 yen, while children tickets cost 620 yen. The travel pass applies to all train lines operated by Kotoden.
