Smash Bros. Producer Sakurai Retweets The September Direct Announcement, Fueling Speculation Of A Major Reveal

Earlier today, we reported on some developers who might be teasing huge announcements during the upcoming Nintendo Direct on September 4. Well, now it looks like  another big name is also throwing his name into the hat!

Recently, Super Smash Bros. producer Masahiro Sakurai retweeted the Direct announcement as well. Along with the retweet, Sakurai included a rather wry message for his Japanese fans – which invites them to watch it live in the early morning.

“It’s morning. Let’s see!”

While this message could mean completely nothing, it also stands to reason that Sakurai could be encouraging viewers to stay tuned for more of his surprises again. It’s certainly quite likely given that Banjo-Kazooie could be launching as a DLC fighter soon, and that the 4th DLC fighter seems due for a reveal.

In response to this tweet, fans obviously roared in anticipation of whatever Sakurai’s words could entail.

We’ll report back if and when we hear of any Super Smash Bros. Ultimate info from the upcoming Direct. Stay tuned!
