Earlier this year, SEGA announced Sonic Origins Plus, an updated re-release of their Sonic Origins collection with extra content.
Unfortunately for collectors, it seems that the physical release of Sonic Origins Plus will not have the new content on the cart, but instead as a download code packed into the box.
This discovery was shared by Twitter users @MSPNova03 and @SnazzySonic, the latter of whom managed to find and picture the physical version of Sonic Origins Plus on PS5, which includes a disclaimer explaining that the extra content with new playable characters and Game Gear titles will be included as a separate download code.
Presumably, this limitation applies to all versions of Sonic Origins Plus, including the Switch version. Fans who were thinking of picking up the physical release of the game may therefore want to keep this in mind before taking the plunge.
