Gearing up for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie next year? In the meantime, you’ll be able to catch up with another long-running TV adventure of the the blue blur!
A new listing on Netflix has revealed that the cartoon/anime series Sonic X will join the streaming service on 1 December 2019. The original show debuted in 2003, and featured Sonic with his friends ending up in the human world. The show was notable for its loose tie-ins with the games, such as re-enacting Sonic’s fight with Perfect Chaos (Sonic Adventure) and a story arc featuring Emerl (Sonic Battle).
Not everything will be available, however. Siliconera notes that only the first 52 episodes (or Seasons 1 & 2) will be airing on Netflix – with no apparent plans to add the last 26 episodes (season 3) of the series. We’ll report back if this changes in the future.
Nevertheless, this is quite a blast from the past! At the very least, the show will stick around for younger generations.
