Last week, multiple users reported that Nintendo of America’s customer service told them of a free service allowing them to upgrade their original Nintendo Switch to the updated Nintendo Switch with longer battery life as long as they purchased it after July 17, 2019.
Although Nintendo of America denied this was the case, a recent phone call made in Spanish by Youtube channel Behind the Games has proven the free upgrade service still exists. The criteria remains the same – you need to have an old Nintendo Switch model that was purchased after July 17.
