The highly anticipated numbers for Splatoon 2’s sales during its first three days in Japan are out.
During its first 3 days on the market, the game moved a total of 671,000 copies in Japan. This number does not include digital copies sold on the Nintendo eShop.
In comparison, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe moved 193,000 and 280,000 copies respectively at launch.
671,000 copies is a huge feat, given that there are currently 1 million and above Nintendo Switch units sold in Japan. This makes 67.1% of Nintendo Switch owners in Japan a player of Splatoon 2, and that number will steadily increase over time.
