Splatoon 2 Was The Bestselling Game In Japan Last Week

Media Create has published their latest sales data for the Japanese video game market (June 11 to June 17, 2018).

It was a relatively quiet week as E3 was held last week. The newest release was GOD WARS: The Complete Legend by Nippon Ichi Software. The Switch version sold 2,967 copies and debuted at 15th place. It sold better than the PS4 version’s 2,694 copies / 17th place.

Thanks to the release of the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, Splatoon 2 was the bestselling game in Japan last week, moving 15,715 copies. Other evergreen Nintendo Switch titles such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Kirby Star Allies continue to perform strongly on the charts.

Although it was a quiet week for Nintendo Switch, 48,062 Switch consoles were sold in Japan last week, making up 57.1% of all hardware sales.
