Square Enix Has No Plans To Increase The Price Of Dragon Quest X Despite Imminent 10% Sales Tax

In October 2019, the Japanese government will increase their prevailing sales tax from 8% to 10%.

As the sales tax will affect almost all products sold in Japan, price increases are expected to happen throughout Japan. But it seems the prices of tickets to play Dragon Quest X will remain unaffected.

Dragon Quest X producer Aoyama says that prices for the 1000 yen and 1500 yen Dragon Quest X tickets will remain unchanged despite the sales tax increase. As he didn’t mention whether the 300 yen tickets will remain unaffected by the sales tax increase, 300 yen tickets could see a small increase in price this October.

Players of the MMO have praised the move and felt this decision is a way of showing Square Enix values their customers.
