Square Enix just released a new video interview with Dragon Quest XI Producer Hokuto Okamoto and Director Takeshi Uchikawa.
In it, the two developers speak about progress of Dragon Quest XI S for Nintendo Switch. Presently, they say that the game is still “in the midst of development” – and that its release will “still take quite some time”.
On a side note, the two also explain why Square Enix was not localizing the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI for western audiences. Apparently, the company simply felt like doing so wasn’t a sensible business decision.

Sadly, it seems like Switch owners have to wait until further notice to get their hands on the latest Dragon Quest title. Let’s hope Square Enix is making good progress even as we speak.
