Square Enix Thanks Octopath Traveler For Boosting Its Sales

During Square Enix’s latest fiscal earnings release for the 3 months ending December 31, 2018, the company announced it saw an increase in sales from 12.5 billion yen (USD154 million) to 22.2 billion yen (USD273 million) on a year-on-year basis.

Square Enix attributed their success to three video games released in 2018 – Octopath Traveler, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Just Cause 4. Octopath Traveler was released exclusively for Nintendo Switch in July 2018 and moved over 1 million copies last year.
