Super Bomberman R Online To Shut Down This Year, Series “Moving On” To New Projects

Some unfortunate news for fans of Super Bomberman Online R, Konami’s battle royale style Bomberman game on the Switch and PC.

As announced on Konami’s official website, the game will unfortunately be shut down later this year on December 1st 2022 due to “various circumstances”. The service will be terminated on all platforms, and the sale of the game’s premium currencies will be stopped later today on June 1st. Players are also advised to spend all of their premium currency before the shutdown date.

Although the service is ending, Konami’s news post ended off by saying that “The “Bomberman” series is moving forward with new projects”, and that they hope to be able to share more updates on them soon. Presumably, this means we can expect a new Bomberman title of some kind to be revealed, although no specific details have been shared so far.

Stay tuned for more details as they come.
