Earlier this year, the Super Mario Bros. Movie Archive discovered a tape of lost footage from the original Super Mario Bros. Movie, which they have since shared a few snippets of online.
Today, it has been announced that an extended cut of the Super Mario Bros. Movie including some of this lost footage will be featured at Pax Australia 2019. In the official announcement on Facebook, it is explained that this extended cut will be one of the choices available for vote during Pax Australia’s Movie night, although the organizers seem confident that it will win.
If it does win, the movie will be screened on Saturday 12th October at PAX Australia’s Gamespot theatre. More details can be found here.
