Remember when Super Mario Odyssey was completely sold out at several different retailers in Japan?
Turns out that the same scenario has happened on the Amazon website which serves the United States. As of today Amazon.com (the official seller) has completely run out of physical copies of Super Mario Odyssey, and there’s no word on when it will return yet. Digital copies are still available at the MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price), and third party sellers are offering the game higher than MSRP.
This probably shows Super Mario Odyssey’s immense popularity among Black Friday shoppers, as other first party games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are still in stock. It’s highly unusual for AAA video games to be sold out very quickly in this day and age.
