Last weekend, Nintendo Switch hardware and software sales soared in the United Kingdom all thanks to Black Friday.
According to GamesIndustry, Super Mario Odyssey has crossed 500,000 copies sold in its entire lifetime at retail. It’s the second Switch game to achieve this. The first Switch game to sell 500,000 units was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The increase in Super Mario Odyssey sales was also thanks to Black Friday. Sales for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (No.10), Super Mario Party (No.24), Super Mario Odyssey (No.25) and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (No.38) rose 98%, 110%, 110% and 111% during the holiday.
Lastly, GamesIndustry reported that over 300,000 consoles were sold in the UK last week. PS4 came in first, followed by Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at third place. It’s said that the gap between all three consoles is very small, so we estimate the Switch could have moved between 70,000 to 90,000 systems.
