Super Nintendo World Japan Has A Mysterious Door That May Hint At A Future Donkey Kong Expansion

As reported previouslySuper Nintendo World in Japan will soon be officially opening its doors to the general public. While visitors will get to enjoy an immersive experience with various Super Mario characters and locales

Thanks to a new preview of the park by VGC, we have our first glimpse at what appears to be a mysterious locked door based on the Donkey Kong series. While there’s nothing explicit about the door that confirms this, the triangle pattern and palm trees around it do seem very reminiscent of recent titles like Donkey Kong Country Returns or Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Here’s a closer look below:

This appears to corroborate an earlier datamine of Universal Studio Japan’s mobile app, which revealed unused Donkey Kong  artwork and assets. All in all, there are strong suggestions here that the Japanese theme park will eventually expand with Donkey Kong attractions in the future!

Of course, we’ll just have to wait until we get an official announcement from Universal Studios Japan or Nintendo. We’ll report back as we hear more in the future!
