After years of hard work, it looks like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate producer and his team have earned a new accolade.
The fighting crossover game has earned the title of Nintendo Game of the Year in this year’s Golden Joystick Awards. As noted by Gamesradar+, this entry of the long-running Super Smash Bros. franchise “continues its legacy as being a jam-packed celebration of gaming history…[with] more fighters, more stages, and more gameplay modes than any of its predecessors.”
The other nominees that it was competing with included Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee, Tetris 99, Yoshi’s Crafted World, Super Mario Maker 2, Astral Chain, Cadence of Hyrule, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Dragon Quest Builders 2.
