With an Indie World showcase scheduled for just a few hours from now, many Hollow Knight fans may be wondering whether they will be any news about the long-awaited sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong that’s been in development since 2019.
Just a few weeks back, developers Team Cherry commented about the status of Silksong in a blog post for the 2021 Unity Awards, where Silksong won “Most Anticipated Game”. In the statement, the developers teased that “it can’t be too much longer” before they can “share the game” with fans.
“We’re honored that Hollow Knight: Silksong won the 2021 Unity Award for the most anticipated game, and hugely appreciate all of the fans who support us as we work on the game. Thank you so much. We’re looking forward to the day we can share the game with you all. It can’t be too much longer, surely!” – Team Cherry
An optimistic way to interpret Team Cherry’s words could be that they were hinting at the newly announced Indie World Showcase, which seems to have caused Silksong to start trending on Twitter again. That said, it equally likely that Silksong will be skipping out on the showcase, and that fans will have to wait much longer for more information. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
