TOHO has announced a live-action adaptation of The Exit 8.
Based on the indie anomaly hunting game of the same name, The Exit 8 live-action film is planned to premier sometime in 2025. A short teaser has been shared, which you can view below along with a message from the game’s developer KOTAKE CREATE:
“The Exit 8 is being adapted into a live-action movie! I never expected a movie to be announced just about a year after the game’s release in November 2023, so I’m totally shocked and grateful. When I first heard about the movie, I wondered how they would turn a game without a story into a movie, but I believe they’ve managed to make something interesting without compromising The Exit 8‘s world and atmosphere! I even got to visit the set, and it was crazy to see the underground passage and man [from the game] right there in front of me! I hope everyone is looking forward to it! I’m really looking forward to its release myself!”
