Last year, Nintendo announced that a live-action movie adaptation of The Legend Of Zelda was in the works.
During their latest financial results briefing, Nintendo showed off a slide featuring their current movie projects, giving us a better idea of when we can expect the Zelda film. As seen below, The Legend Of Zelda movie is tentatively listed for “202X”, positioned after the Super Mario Bros. movie sequel in 2026.
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa: “In the field of visual content, we are making direct investments and are deeply involved in the planning and development of multiple productions.”
Based on the positioning, we could interpret this as the Zelda movie releasing sometime between 2027 to 2029, although this is still just speculation. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
