The Pokemon Company has issued a statement regarding the availability of the newly launched Pokemon TCG Prismatic Evolutions expansion.
The statement acknowledges the difficulty of purchasing products in this expansion due to “high demand”, and apologizes for the inconvenience this causes to fans. They also state they they will work to print more products at “maximum capacity” to be delivered to retailers “as soon as possible”.
This statement is presumably addressing the ongoing issue of scalping in the Pokemon TCG market. The game’s booming popularity has led many scalpers to buy up large quantities of Pokemon TCG cards and products to be resold at a high price to collectors, leaving the average consumer in the lurch.
