The Sonic Movie Originally Had A Different Intro Scene

Wondering about other cuts of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie that exist out there? Well, here’s a peek at what could’ve been!

Thanks to folks who’ve obtained the DVD/Blu-Ray release of the film, we’ve learnt that the movie once had a different opening from the final cut in theaters. According to the movie’s bonus features, the film was originally planned to start on a more mysterious note – with Sonic pranking Crazy Carl. Here’s the scene in question:

Of course, this was shuffled around to give us the more emotional opening that we actually have in the final film – where we learn about Sonic’s mentor figure Long Claw and his home island.
