Japanese accessory maker Thanko has announced a cooling fan for Nintendo Switch that doesn’t look like a cooling fan at all.
Thanko’s latest cooling fan accessory is called “Switch Fuyaswitch”, which could be translated as “CoolinSwitch”. Unlike conventional cooling fans, Thanko’s cooling fan is enclosed in a plastic widget. The widget is attached directly above the Switch’s vents to quickly absorb the heat generated and cool the system down in TV Mode:
The widget is connected via a USB cable to the power supply so it can work:
According to testing by Thanko, after 30 minutes of use the Switch console cools down by 3.7 degree Celsius while the Switch ventilation pane cools down by a whopping 6.8 degree Celsius.
A cross section of how the widget is attached:
A display panel on the widget shows you the temperature and fan speed of the cooling fan. Increase the fan speed by pressing the left button, power it on/off with the button in the center, and decrease the fan speed with the right button.
The widget is touted as a powerful fan that’s small in size.

You’ll be able to purchase the CoolinSwitch from April 10, 2019 for 2480 yen (inclusive sales tax) in Japan.
