Two years ago, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against White Cat Project developer Colopl for infringing their joy-stick touch screen manipulation patent.
Although the outcome of the lawsuit isn’t known yet, Colopl has informed all their users that the game’s version 2.24.0 patch releasing on February 19, 2020 will fundamentally change the way the game’s controls work on a smartphone. That way, the game will no longer infringe on Nintendo’s patent.
