Winning Name For Pokemon Sword & Shield’s “Most Powerful Steel Type Move” Contest Revealed

A few months ago, the Japanese magazine Corocoro held a contest for Pokemon fans to name a brand new “Most Powerful Steel Type Move” being introduced in Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Today, Corocoro has announced the winning name for this new move. It will be called “てっていこうせん” which roughly translates to “Do-Or-Die” or “Exhaustive Beam”. The name is actually a Japanese pun which uses two different phrases, making it difficult to translate into English. As of this writing, the official English name for this move is unknown.

You can check out a video of the move in action below, as posted by Serebii.net:

Type: Steel
Category: Special
Damage: 140
Effect: Does major damage but reduces user’s Hit Points by 50%

Pokemon Sword & Shield are scheduled to launch on 15 November for Nintendo Switch.
