Level-5 has announced that Yo-Kai Watch 4, which launches in Japan very soon, will have 109 Yo-Kai in its base game.
The rest of the 700 or so Yo-Kai will be patched into the game over future updates. This is a stark contrast to Pokemon Sword and Shield, which will have some Pokemon from the Pokemon series and Game Freak has not confirmed whether they would eventually patch in all the Pokemon from the National Dex.
