Following a trademark registration in Japan, it looks like SEGA might be making further preparations for the reveal of its upcoming 2022 Sonic the Hedgehog game.
Astute members of the Sonic fandom have discover what appears to be the official web domain for “Sonic Frontiers” (https://frontiers.sonicthehedgehog.com/). This is very similar to the official web domain for the 2021-released “Sonic Colors Ultimate” (https://colors.sonicthehedgehog.com/) – which further points to its validity.
Additionally, attempting to access this mysterious web domain gives the error “frontiers.sonicthehedgehog.com took too long to respond” – which indicates a website that is active but currently not available for public viewing.
If this new web domain is legitimate, it would further point to “Sonic Frontiers” being the final official title for the as-of-yet unnamed 2022 Sonic the Hedgehog game. Earlier, an anonymous leak claimed that the game’s planned title was “Sonic Rangers”, and that it would have a more open world style of gameplay similar to Breath Of the Wild.
At the time of writing, SEGA has yet to officially reveal any new information about its 2022 Sonic the Hedgehog game. We’ll report back if we hear more in the future.
