Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Changes Special Character Appearance Schedule And Adds New Item Sets

With the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ first summer update, fans and dataminers have been combing through the game documenting various changes it has made to the game.

The most significant reported change so far is that special character appearance rates have been adjusted such that Leif, Kicks, and Saharah are no longer guaranteed encounters. Instead, it seems that every character will have a more equal chance of being picked to appear on weekdays.

This discovery was first shared by dataminer Ninji, who created a helpful graphic illustrating the mechanics below:

In addition, fans and dataminers have also uncovered the full list of Mermaid themed and Pirate themed items that have been added to the game. These items can be obtained through Pascal’s recipes and Gulivarr’s appearances respectively.
