Remember when New Nintendo 2DS LL prices suddenly started rising in Japan because no one could find a Nintendo Switch?
Well, that has developed into something new. Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, the two Animal Crossing physical games for Nintendo 3DS, have seen their brand new and used prices soar across Japan.
A new copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo is now going for about 5000 yen on Amazon Japan, while a new copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf is being priced at about 10,000 yen on Amazon Japan. For reference, a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo costs about 2500 yen, so this shows how high demand is for both products.
The increased demand for both games shouldn’t be surprising as the whole world is trying to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo Switch due to current coronavirus quarantine measures. In Japan, both the Nintendo Switch and Animal Crossing: New Horizons have become hard to find, so some are looking at Animal Crossing: New Leaf as an alternative to keep themselves entertained.
