When it comes to revenue, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp hasn’t been really profitable for Nintendo except for the Japanese market.
There’s a piece of good news however. According to the Wall Street Journal, sales of Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (both are Nintendo 3DS software titles) have increased after the launch of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
In fact, Fire Emblem and Pokemon games saw an increase in sales on the 3DS after the release of Fire Emblem Heroes and Pokemon GO respectively. As Nintendo makes most of its money by selling video games on its platforms, this could be more profitable for the company at least in the short term.
