Nintendo has filed for some new confidential design registrations in the EU.
This news was shared by Nintendo Patents Watch, highlighting that the company had filed for four “deferred” design registrations on May 29th 2026. These deferred design registrations are kept confidential until they are ready to be unsealed at a later date.
Nintendo Patents Watch believes that they are likely tied to some form of new hardware. This is because the last time Nintendo filed for such registrations, they were for yet-to-be revealed projects such as the Charging Grip 2, LABO Vehicle Kit, LABO VR Kit, and an abandoned precursor to the Nintendo Alarmo.
The patents used as examples are quite varied in nature, so its likely difficult to predict what exactly Nintendo’s latest “deferred” hardware could be. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
