A few days ago, we shared with you a report stating that PlatinumGames is planning to make Astral Chain the first game of a trilogy as long as the game sells many copies.
Now Astral Chain director Takahisa Taura has come out to clarify that that is not true. Taura has stated on his personal Twitter account that making an Astral Chain trilogy is simply one of his ideas, and nothing about the trilogy is confirmed at this point.
Here are his full words (translated by NintendoSoup):
Though this (IGN Japan) article wrote that we are making Astral Chain the first title in a trilogy, the reality is we aren’t even doing or planning that. This is simply one of many ideas I have in my head.
I’ve conducted interviews with several overseas publications which have translated my words into English… and it seems that some of my words have been misunderstood, making it hard for me to convey my true intentions to people…
