Blizzard just announced during BlizzCon Online a little surprise for fans of retro games.
The Blizzard Arcade Collection, a digital set of the developer’s classic games, has been updated and is available now for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (also PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility).
The collection retails for $19.99, and is included in all tiers of the Celebration Collection (PC) and The Blizzard 30-Year Celebration Collection (consoles).
The Blizzard® Arcade Collection features enhanced releases of Blizzard Entertainment’s early hits—The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne—all of which were released to critical acclaim prior to the company establishing the Blizzard Entertainment® label. Each entry in the Collection provides an early look at what would evolve into Blizzard’s signature approach to satisfying gameplay, colorful design, and tongue-in-cheek humor.Enhanced FeaturesThe Blizzard Arcade Collection games come in both Original Editions and upgraded Definitive Editions. Each version features enhancements such as custom key mapping and the ability to rewind up to 10 seconds.
Watch Mode – The Original Editions of The Lost Vikings and Blackthorne include watch mode, letting players watch a playthrough of the game and jump in to take control at any point.
Save Anywhere – With the exception of the Definitive Edition of Rock N Roll Racing, each version of the game includes the ability to save progress anywhere.
The Museum – A digital museum is included, with an array of bonus materials, such as game art, development assets, unused content, lore, interviews, and more.
Blizzard announced that the collection is available now but recent searches for the game on the North American eShop does not yield any results for the game. This may change later today in case buyers are not able to find it currently.
