Yuji Horii, the creator of Dragon Quest, has confirmed that more news about the franchise’s next game is on the way.
Horii revealed this in the most recent episode of the KosoKoso broadcast, saying that “We’ll be doing a live stream on May 27” and that he thinks “we’ll be able to make an announcement about the next game”, along with “various other things”.
May 27th would mark the 40th anniversary of the franchise, and the “next game” Horii is referring to is presumably Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate, which was announced back in 2021.
At the time of this writing however, Square Enix has yet to officially announce a Dragon Quest livestream for that date. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
