Capcom Asks Fans To Be “Patient” During Mega Man Battle Network’s 20th Anniversary, Amid Pandemic
As reported earlier, this weekend marks the 20th anniversary of the cult-classic Mega Man Battle Network series. While Capcom has yet to announce any major videogame news to celebrate the series’ big birthday, it seems like the company is aware that fans are hungry for something a little more substantial!
Capcom’s official Mega Man news outlet/blog recently shared its own post to commemorate the big occasion, where it noted various products and promotions that it had already announced previously for the 20th anniversary. At the end, however, Capcom’s Ucchy-san implies that some of the company’s plans were possibly waylaid by the global COVID-19 pandemic – and requested that fans be patient in the meantime:
“If the world hadn’t been in this situation, I might have had other plans to announce. But for now, I think it’s time to be patient.
Of course, washing hands, gargling and social distancing are important, too. It’s always Rockman who beats the virus after all!”
Currently, many fans are still clamoring for a possible ‘Legacy Collection’ remaster of the series for modern consoles – just like Capcom has done for the Mega Man, Mega Man X, and Mega Man Zero/ZX games previously. We’ll just have to wait and see if Capcom will fulfil those hopes in the future.
What do you think Capcom’s “other plans” are for the 20th anniversary of Mega Man Battle Network? Feel free to share below!
