Detective Pikachu Movie Begins Filming In January 2018

The live action Detective Pikachu movie has been scheduled to start filming in January 2018, according to a recent production listing found by Omega Underground.

Omega Underground’s production listing also states that filming will take place in London, which is no surprise given the Detective Sherlock setting the Detective Pikachu game on Nintendo 3DS has.

Detective Pikachu is a mini Nintendo 3DS game that released on the Nintendo eShop early 2016. Unfortunately it’s only been released in Japan, and Nintendo and The Pokemon Company could potentially be waiting for the movie to be out first before launching the game in the west.
