As many gamers will know, this year’s coronavirus outbreak has led to the cancellation of enormous physical events such as E3 and Tokyo Game Show this year – leaving fans worldwide without much to look forward to. Well, publisher Devolver Digital is here to make sure things don’t stay quiet for long!
The company has confirmed that it will be hosting its own ‘Devolver Direct 2020’ some time this year. While they could not pin down a date for the broadcast right now, the publisher teased that good things would be in store:
For those out of the loop: Devolver Digital began experimenting with the ‘Direct’ style of pre-recorded E3 conferences from as early as 2017, giving viewers bizarre skits and inane humor mixed in with actual game announcements. However, it was only last year (2019) that the publisher officially coined these broadcasts as ‘Devolver Directs’ – purposefully ripping-off and parodying Nintendo Directs.
We’ll report back as we hear more details about this in the future. Stay tuned!
