Earlier this week, we reported on Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, a new RPG by the creators of Suikoden aiming to release in 2022.
Over on the game’s Kickstarter page, one of the stretch goals was a console release for the title, which included the Switch among the listed platforms. However, now that the console release stretch goal has been met, the developers have posted an interesting update stating that instead of the Switch, they will be aiming to release Eiyuden Chronicle on Nintendo’s “next gen” console.
In the update, the developers reveal that they are in truth not that confident that they will be able to get the game to run on the current Switch model, and in the interest of making development consistent across all platforms, they have now opted to target whatever Nintendo has planned next after the Switch, be it a “Switch 2” or otherwise.
That said, if no such console winds up being released by then, the developer have said they will try their best to create a version of the game for Switch, and refund backers if needed should this prove too difficult.
