Earlier this year, we reported on the sudden emergence of a fanmade Super Mario 64 port running on PCs. Despite the unauthorized project quickly earning the ire of Nintendo’s lawyers however – it looks like its fans are still chugging along unabated.
As of recently, various modders of the fanmade PC port have made several improvements to it. These include giving Mario a more-detailed model, and upscaling various textures (such as Peach’s stained-glass window and the game’s paintings).

For now, it’s unclear if Nintendo’s legal action against this fanmade PC port will intensify – especially since it’s still at large and in the hands of resourceful modders such as those shown above. We’ll report back if we hear more in the future.
