Today we have a very important report that is coming from some Nintendo Switch owners and a repair store in Japan.
Some Japanese users are reporting that their Nintendo Switch systems are no longer able to load all of their Nintendo Switch Game Cards in Japan. This seems to occur after the user inserts a pre-owned Game Card or a Game Card they have borrowed from a friend.
A repair store in Japan investigated the issue and realized that this happened after users inserted a faulty Game Card into the Switch. The faulty Game Card could be identified by its bent and broken strip, as seen in the photo below:
If someone inserts a faulty Game Card with a strip that’s been bent, it would permanently damage the Game Card slot. Shockingly, there is no way to fix this as the error will reappear even after the Switch undergoes repairs.
Here is a microscopic view of the damaged contacts in the Switch’s Game Card reader:
The repair store recommends all Nintendo Switch owners to carefully inspect Game Cards before they insert them into the Switch.
