Full Super Mario Bros. Wonder And Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom GDC Presentations Released Online

Last month, Nintendo gave two presentations at the Game Developer’s Conference 2024, sharing a ton of behind the scenes details about the development of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

Both presentations have now been released on the GDC Vault website with English subtitles. The Tears Of The Kingdom presentation can be found here, featuring Technical Director Takuhiro Dohta, Lead Physics Programmer Takahiro Takayama, and Lead Sound Engineer Junya Osada discussing the challenges they faced developing the game, as well as Link’s new abilities and the game’s soundtrack. The Super Mario Bros. Wonder presentation can be found here, featuring producer Takashi Tezuka and director Shiro Mouri discussing their decision to change up the Mario formula, coming up with Wonder Effects, and the inspirations and philosophies they adopted to ensure the game would wow players.
