Independent Japanese game retailer Games Maya had its last day of business yesterday in Japan.
Many customers, long time staff, companies, and game developers made a trip to the store from as far as Hong Kong to bid farewell. The game retailer’s final day in business drew a huge crowd and many curious onlookers from the neighborhood. Companies such as Level-5 and The Pokemon Company sent elaborate flower displays to wish the owner of Games Maya the best for the future.
The Detective Pikachu mascot even made multiple appearances at Games Maya. Many customers thanked Games Maya for what they had done in the last 35 years.
