Minutes ago, The Pokemon Company published a new trailer for Pokemon Sword And Shield, officially revealing some new Gigantamax Pokemon that will appear in the game.
One of these is Gigantamax Meowth, who is a bit special compared to the other revealed Gigantamax Pokemon. As shared in the trailer, Gigantamax Meowth will be distributed as an early purchase bonus through Pokemon’s Mystery Gift feature.
Players who buy Pokemon Sword or Shield from November 15th 2019 to January 15th 2020 will be able to connect to the internet and receive Gigantamax Meowth as a free gift. Note that Gigantmax Meowth will not be able to evolve, much like Gigantamax Pikachu & Eevee.
Interestingly, receiving this gift does not require a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which suggests that perhaps online event Pokemon distributions will remain free like they always have been. We will report back with more details should this change.

This special Meowth that can Gigantamax will be gifted as an early-purchase bonus for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield players. You will be able to receive this special Meowth by selecting the Get via Internet option in Mystery Gift from Friday, November 15, 2019, to Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
Note: An internet connection is required to receive the special Meowth.
