Digital Foundry has published their tech analysis for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, comparing the game to the Wii U and 3DS prequels.

According to the tech analysis, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a huge leap in terms of graphics from the 3DS version, and many visual and lightning improvements could be observed when comparing stages in Ultimate and Wii U. What’s more impressive is that the game looks largely the same in both Handheld Mode and TV Mode.
