A test has been conducted to find out how fast Nintendo Switch 2 games load from the system memory, microSD Express Card, and Game Card.
The test was conducted with Mario Kart World, and it revealed some interesting results. Apparently, Mario Kart World loads the fastest from the system memory, followed by microSD Express Card, and the Game Card was the slowest.
Here are the full results:
System Memory: 16.6 seconds
microSD Express card: 19.78 seconds
Game Card: 24.75 seconds
Based on these results, we can tell that games take about 49% longer to load on a Game Card compared to the system memory. This matches what a third-party developer recently said about loading speeds.
